We are not trying to be the biggest church in Harare. We are trying to produce disciples who can read the Bible, pray, and pass both on.
Our story
How we got here
Movement Church began with a small group of believers in Waterfalls who wanted one thing: to take the commands of Jesus seriously and teach them to others.
We are not a large church, and that is not the goal. The goal is disciples — people who know the Scriptures, who can pray, who can carry the gospel to a neighbour, a workplace, a nation.
Every Sunday at ten we gather on Fourth Avenue to worship and to be taught. Through the week we meet in homes, serve across Harare, and send people out. If you are looking for a church family in Harare, you are welcome here exactly as you are.

A handful of families begin meeting in Waterfalls with a vision to make disciples.

First community outreach
The church takes its first food and prayer outreach into the surrounding suburbs.

Teaching moves to livestream during lockdown and reaches Zimbabweans abroad for the first time.

Zumba with Mom launches
A Saturday health and fellowship programme opens the doors to the wider neighbourhood.

Four commitments. If you are deciding whether this is your kind of church, these are the things to weigh.
- The Great Commission
- Every ministry here exists to make disciples. If something does not help someone follow Jesus more closely, we stop doing it.
- Scripture, taught plainly
- We teach the commands of Jesus from the Bible — in order, in context, and without softening what it says.
- A family, not an audience
- You are known here by name. We eat together, pray for each other, and show up when life is hard.
- Service that leaves the building
- Waterfalls is our parish. We serve our neighbours whether or not they ever join us on a Sunday.

Jonathan McDonald
Teaches most Sunday mornings and leads the Legacy Family series. Oversees the teaching and discipleship track.
Jackin Lungiwedu
Teaches on marriage, singleness and the household. Available for pre-marital and family counselling.
Meyer Brown
Leads the Royal Priest of God studies and trains the small-group teachers.
